History & concept

"Where art meets history" is the Artsy Hotel's motto, and this couldn't be more fitting.

The hotel was born out of a 19th-century mansion which was built by an acquaintance of King Dom Carlos. The property was then later owned by the great Portuguese industrialist Alfredo da Silva before being inherited by the Balsemão family who remain partial owners to this day. Francisco Maria Balsemão spent many summers in his childhood at the house, an experience which led him to want to preserve it.

TRANSFORMED INTO A BOUTIQUE HOTEL

Today, the mansion has been transformed into a boutique hotel that celebrates the history and culture of Cascais. The newer, more contemporary extension of the building features an artistic installation that covers its facade, adding a touch of modernity to the hotel's design. This combination of the old and the new reflects the hotel's motto to create a unique and unforgettable experience.
